Dark Tower Movie speculation

I think I have a unique pick for Roland. Viggo seems to be mentioned more than anyone for the part, and while he is a very good choice - especially after seeing him in The Road, which kinda makes me think of Roland's world which has "moved on".

But I think Timothy V. Murphy would be a dead ringer. He could be Viggo's older brother, looking at him!





Both of those pics are taken from his IMDB page. I would SWEAR the second is of Viggo, but apparently not (according to IMDB anyhow).

I'm excited with the announcement to begin working on a film project for the Dark Tower! They said that some of the short stories, and graphic novels also might be included as part of the films.

Hugh Laurie as Roland..I always imagined hearing him with an english accent mixed with a small bit of western drawl mixed in. Or perhaps Josh Holloway..
christopher Walken is Too old for Flagg right? if he is, what a shame.

timothy Olyphant as Roland, His acting in The Crazies justifies him that much more in my mind as Roland. With a TV counterpart to the movies, you need good actors on the cheap, especially these days. I haven't even thought of castings for Eddie or Jake....but it strikes me, get the Gunslinger right and all goodness shall follow.

Stephen Brennan, apparently Irish(can't find where he was born but in mostly Irish TV)...I saw him in episode 1 of 2nd season of Ballykissangel and he kinda looks like Roland does in the drawings of him holding a rose, standing in the field of roses in front of the Tower.

I don't agree with most of the picks for Eddie. I do agree, however, with Viggo/Roland and Naomi Harris, who looks EXACTLY like the painting for Detta/Odetta/Susannah.
Don't know if someone had already chosen this one for Eddie or not because... well... TL;DR.

Adrian Grenier. nnh. I'd be his Susannah but I'm a mite too pale.

NOT looking forward to the TV series. Honestly, either they screw up the storyline beyond recognition (but at least have decent acting), or they get the storyline somewhat right and the acting is ridiculous and hard to believe. I've written out this formula for pretty much EVERY SK movie or miniseries.
But, alas, I am a Tower Junkie, and will watch every minute of it in a form of reserved reverence. Kennit?

Hi Guys!! I just came across this thread on who should act in the Dark Tower movie adaptation and although i am only halfway through the books i came up with a few people i think might fill the spots.

Originally i figured that people who aren't A list actors so to speak would be better so it wasn't just an over priced summer Blockbuster but then i came across a few people i think would do well in the role of Roland, Eddie and Susanna. So here goes let me know what you think

For Roland i thought if he could work on his accent i think Christopher Walken would do a good job also my other thoughts were Hugh Laurie and Ian McKellen but i think maybe Walken and McKellen may be too old



For Eddie dean i found someone put Norman Reedus and i think that would work really well also i thought a drugged up looking Milo Ventimiglia might work too.


And for Susanna i keep coming back too Rutina Wesley from True Blood


I aslo thought too Jarrod Padalecki from Supernatural as The Man in Black
