Valentines Day Story--Writers needed

Hello all.

I have been asked to oversee another story for the board. This one is going to be a love story and we're looking for writers. Same format as the Halloween story as that seemed to come off really well.

Since we have some seriously amazing writers on this board my job in overseeing the thing is not much. I just make sure it continues to flow and everyone is really good about that.

My goal in doing these stories is as much community participation and bonding as it is the end product so please don't be afraid to sign up. We have all kinds of time which seems to work out really well in the long run. Good planning = Good result.

Here are the standard rules as written by Jordan that we should all live by in any story for this board. More specific rules will be hashed out in a social group I will create. If you say you would like to write, you will be invited to it. Obviously the group will be invite only to keep the story secret until it is published. I know stuff comes up but please only request to write if you feel like you can follow through.

THE RULES OF PLAY

In an effort to reduce the negativity that came with years past, we’re posting some basic guidelines. Please keep in mind that first and foremost the intention of this is to have fun. It’s not meant to be a submission for publication, so expect that there will be differing levels of expertise with the writing.

1. Only posters who have asked to be included and approved on a first-come, first-served basis will be allowed to submit.
2. Have your piece in on time, or you'll be bumped.
3. Don't complain about the writing order, who's administrating the story or "the way things ought to be".
4. Only "constructive" criticism will be posted. The no "snarkiness" rule applies here, too. And, of course, any positive feedback would be posted.
5. Keep within the maximum word count (500 words), or you'll lose however many paragraphs as it takes off of the end of your submission.
6. No deus ex machina entries.
7. The administrator will need to work with each writer to resolve any necessary edits. They are not allowed to edit the work however they see fit.
8. The story itself has its own locked thread. Comments about the story belong in the proper thread, and won't be posted anywhere else.
9. Submissions become the property of StephenKing.com.
10. Since the story is open to submitters whose first language may not be English, cut 'em some slack on grammar and spelling errors.
11. All submissions must be in English.


Management reserves the right to add/edit the rules if the need arises.

Well crap, I didn't edit out where he says those rule are for the Halloween Story.

Keep in mind it is a general set we are going to use as a template for all stories so ignore that little bit.

And by the way, I plan to write so I'll put myself on the list. The writing order itself is determined by a random drawing.
