Oh thanks God ithis isnīt a comparison between a movie and a book. Never saw the movie...(but I would like to)
I can only agree with this:

So I donīt really know what is my favourite book...

    Hi,

Yeah, keep your eyes open for it, Kathy Bates IS Dolores IMO.

The first time that I tried to read this book, I just could not get into it at all. I then left it and picked up another SK novel promising myself that I would go back to it. I kept this promise and as really pleased that I did so. Why I could not get into this was a mystery in itself, this was a fantastic read and have read it again since.

I went out and picked up the movie and thought the cast were perfect for this great story, It has shown me that it is always worthwhile going back.

I can not think of enough superlatives to describe the movie. To be honest I'm not sure Shakespeare himself could! My feeble attempt though would be to say that this was utterly spellbinding! The cast, crew, directer, screenwriter, costume, editor, lighting etc.

Kathy Bates is just the most magnificent actress of our generation, perhaps of all time.

I finished this movie with an emotive tear in my eye and that rarely happens to a 19 year old like myself, but I guess that's the magic of King...

if you have not yet read/watched Dolores Claiborne, well y'all just better or those darn 'dust bunnies' ya make ya regret it......

I personally prefer Gerald's Game to Dolores Claiborne, but that's just me.

I love this book and I think it was very special -the way it's all told in that heavy old-woman slang. Funny, sad and touching - all at the same time.

Dolores Claiborne is one of my all time favorites...

I think many find it a hard read.... or don't care for it because...

    1. It's narrated by Dolores..
    2. No chapters... so it's like ... one long continuous narrative...

but hey... there is a DT reference.... an Insomnia reference.... Gerald's Game (which I love....)...Shawshank....

this is a great story about women..... their strengths ... their weaknesses.... their ability to overcome all the men in their lives that make everything so damn difficult.... from the police... to the banker... to the husbands... Selena's boss....

and yes... Kathy Bates IS Dolores... I can picture no other actress in that lead.... she was outstanding...

and I love Vera too.... she did what she had to do to survive... and I have come to her way of thinking.... "sometimes being a b*tch is all a woman has to hold on to...."

For those that don't care for this one... try it one more time.....

My favorite part of the movie was the scene where the camera is focused on Dolores's hands....."You can tell what a persons life is like by looking at their hands" and her hands are rather ruff.I thought that was pretty cool!
