Default Which SK books have you NOT read?

There are many that I have not read. That I do plan to get around to.
I also need to re-read some that I haven't read in a long time, or just because they are so good.

First, my list of "started but never finished":
    Tommyknockers
    IT
    Gerald's Game
    Needful Things
    Cell
    Duma Key
I just couldn't get into these. I realize that I apparently need to read IT and Duma Key. But, are the others urgent reads?

Now, my list of "never reads"

    Dreamcatcher
    The Shining
    The Mist
    Desperation
    Hearts in Atlantis
    Salems Lot.
    (and other's of course)
Of all of these, please let me know what one's I'm definately missing out on and need to read NOW.

I know I have to read The Shining. That's my first one to read immediately.

Have read: Pet Semetary, Lisey's Story, Skeleton Crew, From a Buick 8, On Writing, Bag of Bones, Thinner, Insomnia, and some more.

You must, must read The Shining, Salem's Lot (what a real vampire tale should be), and The Mist. Try reading IT again, it is well worth it. Also try reading Desperation and The Regulators back to back.

    Hi,

I've never managed to finish Tom Gordon, despite starting it three times.

And I must re-read Gerald's Game, didn't get much out of it the first time.

Other than that, I've read everything.

    Long days and pleasant nights

First of all Travis - finish what you started. I'm confused, you said you read The Shining but have it on your "never read" list. As for that Never Read list - why? Read them - read them all. You are missing out big big.

I have a lot of trouble with the DARK TOWER books. I've read the first three, but always get bogged down with WIZARD AND GLASS. My journey towards the Tower is anew, though, so this time I'm going to make it through the book come hell or high water!

Travisdead, dont mean to be picky, but is The Mist not part of Skeleton Crew?

Can I ask, is there any reason for you being unable to finish the books you have mentioned - admittedly Tommyknockers, Needful Things and IT are very bulky. Dont bother with Cell - move on! Duma Key is excellently written, probably for SK's best narrative work. I have never read Gerald's Game.

In all honesty, you are missing some of SK's greatest work - 'Salem's Lot for me is absolutely fantastic - I was ultimately disappointed with IT, tho....If you are young I would advise reading his medium sized collections first e.g. Firestarter, The Dead Zone, 'Salem's Lot etc and then progress onto larger novels like The Stand, IT and the DT series.

    ....enjoy!

I don't think I said that I read The Shining. As far as my "never read" list, that's pronounced "red". As in, I haven't gotten around to them yet. But, they will be "red" eventually.
From what I've been seeing on the net, The Shining is going to be my first one. I want to re-read Pet Semetary, as it's always been my favorite, and it was the first SK book I ever read. Scared the bejesus outta me.

I haven't read the Dark Tower series, Nightmares and Dreamscapes and Skeleton Crew. Other than that, I don't think I have missed much.
