Meaning of Percy/Perse

Anybody know if there is some meaning behind the names Percy (the Green Mile) and Perse (Duma Key)?

I don't think that Steve intended for there to be any connection between those two characters.

Persephone in Greek Mythology is the Queen of the underworld. She was just called Perse early in the book so we wouldn't make the connection right away. There is no connection to the Green Mile.
