Default Are we done with discussing SK books?

Maybe it's just me, but I've been feeling as thought the SK forum has changed quite a lot in the last 6 months. Many of the threads now, hey - MOST, aren't about Mr King's books or stories but discuss TV shows, movies and unrelated topics.

Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy this little lively community of ours, it's just a bit weird for me that we don't spend more time discussing what brought all of us here to begin with. New book-related questions, ideas, inquiries about stories, etc.

Does anyone else feel the same?

That will probably change once Under the Dome is released. This is typical for the Board and you'll see that there are cycles of discussion about book topics as well as non-related ones. I believe that there are also Social Groups that are discussing specific book titles so that it's not as much of an issue to be including spoilers.

hi michal. yeah, i've been disgruntled a time or two, ha-rummmmphing all over the place. honestly, i think there's some great discussions going on in books, written works. could it be more? sure. could be less, too. i like some of the threads where someone has tagged the opener w/a thumbs down sign, or said something like 'i don't like sk'. food for thought.

Yeah, it does seem that way to me too. I notice new book related threads coming up now and again and the social groups are a great place for book discussions ... even better since you don't have to worry about the social groups closing when the board does.

I'm still new here but honestly, I don't see a problem? I am a multi faceted human being who's favored author happens to be Stephen King. I have read every single line that man has had published (at least the ones I can get my hands on - I'm sure there are quiet a few stories in old mags I've missed). I await with baited breath for the next great thing.. and wonder if his next one will be his last. Even great men grow weary.

I see nothing wrong with discussing other books or entertainment. That is in fact the beauty of reading... you can enjoy it alone and then you can share it with others in the retelling.

    Blessed day

Well it's better than the unofficial SK threads. You should see how unrelated those threads are.

Personally, and without meaning it as a criticism in any way of SK's impressive output, I feel a bit sorry for anybody who hangs around here purely to discuss Stephen King. There's a whole world of interesting things out there, and a large gathering of intelligent people here to discuss those things with.

SK is well catered for around here. There are forums and threads for discussing practically every word that he's written, and nothing to stop any SKMB member from limiting himself (or herself) to those areas if their personal horizons stretch no further than the works of the man himself.

I'm far from done. I've only read 6 of his novels so far and I have 25 of his novels in my collection...I'm far from done, lol.

Lucky you... All I have to look forward is future work and rereading, which is by itself a treat of course. But there's nothing like the promise of an unread novel.

Considering that I am the only King fan that I know personally I quite enjoy reading about everyone else's interests in things other than King. This is quite a diverse group spanning the globe. What I find quite interesting is how like-minded most of us are.
