Default The Third Leg Of My Journey

I took a few days breather after THE DRAWING OF THE THREE, but I'm now back on the road to the Dark Tower.

For some reason, I'm having trouble getting into this book. I've read it twice before, and enjoyed it, but this time it's proving a chore. But alas, I shall prevail!

    I'm doing my best.

I read a few short stories while wading myself through book 3, and have finally given it my complete attention. It's a very good outing.

WIZARD AND GLASS still scares me, though. But I'm gearing myself up and should be ready for it as soon as I pass through the wastelands.

    Finally, I finished.

Did it find it to be a good book? Most certainly! It's the third time I've read it, so maybe three times is the charm?

One small complaint, though. As a card-carrying member of the KISS Army, I have to note that the song isn't just called "Doctor Love". It's "CALLING Doctor Love".

Sorry, Sai King, but it was a small rock beneath my saddle...

Actually Im pretty sure that the song is indeed titled "Doctor Love" rather than "calling Doctor Love" as the chorus suggests. Havent dragged out my KISS ALIVE in years but I think that perhaps you owe Mr. King an apology. If not..my bad!

You aren't alone. I've only read this particular installment one time (and very much enjoyed it)...each sequential time I tried, I had a lot of trouble and just didn't get very far. I found Blaine just irritating, for starters. And not in an interesting way either.

I found this one very hard to get into and actually gave up with it in the and havent gone back to the series since, i love the first 2 books, but this one was like bleh! I think it might have been that i was sick of the characters, i get like that i cant read about like 3 characters for too long i get bored with them, i might go back to them as i have the whole series, but i will read a different book in between each one.

Am I the only one that I liked that book? I' ve read it translated so, I can't say if it was difficult book or not in English...

I found it easy to read (maybe the translator did a Very good job) and for some strange reason, I had in my mind that King was writting something like a fairy-tail story... He made me feel like a child and I adored that feeling.

I din't feel tired or bored, I was very interested of the characters and when I finished it I grubbed in my hand the 4th book and I started reading it.

I had trouble starting the wastelands, too. I would always stop reading about 50 pages in, where the bear shows up. I guess there was something jarring about the fantasy of it right after drawing of the three (which had more of a magical realism vibe). Once I got through that stumbling place, though, I thought the book was great (one of my favorites from the series).
