I've just reread Apt Pupil and was slightly amazed to hear that DT phrase coming from the lips of that old Nazi. Does anyone knows if it appears anywhere else in the SK world? Seems he likes it. And where does it originates from? Sounds biblical, but I'm pretty sure it's not in the old testament.

I'm pretty sure it's not from the Bible too (Old or New Testament). I think you're right, it's just something King made up, though it certainly sounds biblical.
