i loved that painting, and i love how its connected to the dark tower, and how it makes us think that those monsters came from rolands world. they were most likely from the todash darkness.

My first thought was that it would be a great precursor to the Dark Tower movies which would soon (or maybe could already) be in production...

Well, maybe once Lost is finished, we may see something...but I'm kind of doubtful as to whether the movies would ever be made, or if they could even be worth the time it would take to watch them.

When i saw that painting i thought, 'this could be a great movie'...he obviously had a fair amount of input into the direction. what a great reference for DT fans.

J.J. Abrams et al have decided not to go forward with a Dark Tower film adaptation as they did not feel they would be able to do it justice. No one else currently has the option to do a film.

I was really excited when I saw the painting. Because I was thinking: Oh maybe they will made a movie of the DT books. So I was really happy.

I think a movie about Roland and his Tet must be a great one

In my opinion, it would be almost impossible to do a good job of it, and then you have to think about the economic issues.

A good series would need at least 7 movies...and this isn't Harry Potter we're talking about...there's no way they would make enough back to warrant such an expense. The other way is the miniseries option; this means watered-down stories (but I have liked most of the miniseries better than the big-screen movies).

Although I would go see anything made, I wouldn't have high hopes.

Hey, anyone else have $19 to get the movie rights? We can make a fanfic movie!

What that painting did do, though, was make Roland easier to imagine when I did get round to reading The Gunslinger.
Same here! I just thought it was a good painting - I only started reading The DT series last month and that's the very image I have of Roland in my head! I'm now on Wolves Of the Calla....DT is immense!!!!
