    Default The Painting

    I loved this movie i haven't read it yet but plan too as soon as i am finished with The Stand!! Hey did anyone happen to notice who he was painting in the very beginning??
    I just freaked out when i saw he was painting the Gunslinger !!!!

    Same here! I loved the reference, and the painting was also excellent!

    I remember freaking out in the movie theater! I was like "wow....thats the gunslinger!". My fiance looked at me as if I was crazy

    I didn't get it, for the very good reason that I hadn't read any of the DT books before seeing the film. My immediate thought was 'Clint Eastwood, but not'.
    What that painting did do, though, was make Roland easier to imagine when I did get round to reading The Gunslinger.

    That was done by Drew Struzan. Steve has the original--it was a gift from Frank Darabont.

    Thank you! I love that painting. All of us freaked out a bit when we saw that. I know I had a smile on my face from ear to ear when I first saw it. Thanks for the link, Ms. Mod, now I can really have a good look at it!
