Well, I've got a lil' story to tell, may it please ya. I'll be short and concise and expect no feedback.
I've been a fan of THE BOOKS since I read the first one when I was twelve...you do the math. I became a King fan afterward. The other day I happened to pick up the revised Book 1...which I had never read, believing myself a purist. 8 hours later I put it down. In my small town I could not find THE DRAWING...But I did pick up a copy of WASTELANDS, mine original having been lent to spread the word. I went to the local neighborhood bar, where I occasionally have been known to rent a seat. I perched on the stool and began reading. Now, at my bar we have a roll...a quarter to play, five of a kine on the bones wins. The tally was up to 1550 dollars, say thankya. I had just finished reading the Gunslingers litany from "Bone and Bear" of WASTELANDS, as recited by Susan when somebody handed me the cup. Without thinking I threw five aces. So...since I can't tell the King hisself, I'd thought I'd post it. I understand about dumb luck and all that...but still...I had just read the litany and I though some body might appreciate it...since none the folk in my town did. All hail the Eld, White over Red and all the rest. When I die...on my tombstone I'm having carved the phrase..."THE TOWER OR BUST"
Wait, you just skipped over The Drawing of the Three? Or have you already read it? That is pretty strange that you just read the part where Susannah recites the Gunslinger's Litany and you had a little good luck yourself.
