Insomnia: Weekend At Bernie's III
Insomnia: Weekend At Bernie's III
At first I thought it would be difficult to put Insomnia on the big screen because of its length. But looking back you can actually cut out large portions of the novel. The novel was excellent and I really liked it but I felt that it could have been shorter. Some parts just seemed to go on longer than necessary. So I believe now that it is possible to make a film adaption of it.
A recent post talked about David Lynch and Stephen King. I could picture David Lynch directing something like this because of its weird imagery (Gerald's Game would be up his alley too), especially the little men. As far as who could star in it, I could picture Gene Hackman but he's officially retired from acting now (he's actually an author now). Someone like Keifer Sutherland could be the main antagonist.
Tim Robbins would be great as Ralph Roberts. He's got the height, the good looks, the personality, and would do well with the age changes in the story.
I agree I think Tim Robbins would play an great Ralph.
Awesome!!! Keep us informed on the possible production of making Insomnia into a movie. I really loved the book. I read it twice, loaned it out and forgot who had it, so I bought the book again. I would love to see a movie made from the book.
It is going to be a complicated script.
What about Mennan Yapo ("Premonition" - 2007) as director ?. Sandra Bullock looks lot like a younger Lois perfectly.
I haven't read Insomnia, but the whole idea of seeing halos around people's heads and seeing small, bald people around the dying seems creepy to me. I'm halfway through- if not a little more- Under The Dome, and I'm heavily considering reading Insomnia.
Howsabout Jon Voight as Ralph?
