The Long Walk Film

Hey all,

Just wondered if there was any truth to the rumour of a 'The Long Walk' film? Also, any news on what is happening with the 'Cell' film?

Frank Darabont has the rights to do an adaptation of The Long Walk but I don't have an update on when that production will begin. Cell is currently set to be a miniseries. I also don't know if that is still in pre-production or has moved along.

i thought i heard a rumor a while ago that eli roth (hostel,cabin fever) was going to direct the cell...could be wrong though. I personally think hostel was the most overrated garbage ive seen on screen in a while.

I would love to see a long walk adaptation though, one of my favorites.

Couldn't agree more about Roth and Hostel.

You'll be pleased to hear that he pulled out because he 'wants to write his own movies'.

i thought i was the only one!
I dont mind a bit of slasher stuff once in a while. depending on what movie it is i could really like it!
But this guy is getting so much uneccassary praise in the horror community! I dont get it! It drives me nuts!

If you were listed as an extra in The Long Walk in Stephen King Goes To The Movies, does that mean you get to actually be an extra in the film?

Long Walk film would be awesome! It's one of my favorites.
I couldn't stand Hostel, and i agree with you both, that film was very
overrated. It wasn't even scary.

Man, you're 100% right! Hostel was a big mistake in the history of cinema.
As it goes for The Long Walk, I would love to se it turned into a movie, but I have only one request. Let it be Darabont....because I think he proved 3 times that he's the best when it comes to King's movies...and please keep Garris away from it (seriously what does King see in him, I mean ok the movies are correct, and portait the storys well, what does that matter when they are crappy as hell?). Frank making the Long Walk would be a dream come true

Accorrding to Wikipedia Darabont "will get to it" (The Long Walk). I heard roth isn't going to do The Cell which is good because I think roth is talentless.

I wouldn't call Roth "talentless", Hostel was pretty good.. you just have to be "into" the kind of gore he makes... I'm glad to hear that he is not going to a Stephen King Film tho.. Obviously he is not 100 percent into the story and feels he is not the right guy to make Cell... Good for him for him.. I wish him the best and am glad to see cell be passed on to someone who loves it.
