I agree with Misery Knight. I liked the original movie a lot but the way Carrie killed her mum was way better in the book...

I watched the TV movie last night and the original is so much better. I could barely sit through the whole thing.

Carrie was the first movie based on a SK's novel that I ever watched and I loved it. I have not seen the new version or the sequel, so I guess I can't compare, but nothing beats originals anyway imho. It's like the movie Jaws I think. The first movie was the most popular and the most scary, and I have seen them all. Carrie was well directed and well acted too. Sissy Spacek was just incredible as Carrie.

I actually saw Carrie at the movie theatre when it first came out. It really freaked me out. I loved it. I wasn't even aware of the TV version or of a sequel. I sort of liked the way Carried killed her mother in the movie because of the symbolism of it and I think that the way she killed her in the book wasn't as "exciting" to show on the big screen. That is probably why they changed it.

I just caught the TV movie on Lifetime Movie Network, and I *really* liked it! My opinion could be influenced by the fact that I LOVE Angela Bettis, the quirky gal who plays Carrie in the TV movie (first saw her in "May" which is a most groovy-quirky-horror movie and one of my favorites of all time). I felt most of the diversions from the novel helped make it relevent to kids today (it was rated TV14). Of course I love the book and the original film, and like bryantburnette found the sequel "Carrie 2" a mildly enjoyable way to kill some time. All of that said, if they make anything of Mr. King's into a picture, I'll look at it!

the best one was the original. The original movie gets 9.5/10
Reasons:Great Actors/Actresses, Special effects good for their time, better scenes, Followed the book well enough.
Sequel was second best. The sequel get a 7/10
Reasons: It didn't need to follow a book. It was an original thought. Had pretty good actors/Actresses. Cool idea to put Amy Irving(Sue Snell) in Carrie 2
Worst one in my opinion. It gets a 5/10
Reasons:Special effects were just boring, Actors/Actresses could've done a better job. The only good thing is this one followed the book better.

Because I only have read the book and seen the original of the movie I can't comment about the tv movie. But Carrie was a great book and it was not very bad as movie either.
