I enjoyed it and it made me jump. The original movie, that is.
Never saw the other ones, never read the book. It was on instant-play on Netflix so I watched it today for the 1st time.

LOVE the original movie, it's got two of my favorite actors, Sissy Spacek and John Travolta. Plus I LOVE Piper Laurie as Margaret. I saw what I think is the sequal, it was good for a horror movie, but didn't do Carrie justice. Also, didn't realize there was a made for TV movie, I'll have to look into that one.
I just watched the original movie last night after I finished reading Carrie. It was better than I expected. I did not think that John Travolta made a good Billy Nolan. I pictured Nolan as a much rougher character. I did not like the end. I preferred Carrie leaving before destroying the school and I missed her mother stabbing her in the shoulder. Overall I felt the original offered a brief summary of the book with many of the best parts missing.
I agree B4Victory. But I liked it though.Overall I felt the original offered a brief summary of the book with many of the best parts missing.
The original film is a classic. There's no room for the TV movie or sequel.
I didnt like the tv movie much.... like her mom drowning her and i thought sissy spacek was WAY better then whoever the brunette was that played her for tv.
Original will allways be the best as far as movies go, but the book is still my fav.
Book>movie>tv movie for me.
I always tend to like the books better because I create my own vision of the characters based on the written descriptions and many times the actors don't match that very well.
I agree with bryantburnette...I too like them all. The books of course are going to be better than anything as you have to use your imagination, and we all set the scene differently. The Movies, tv versions and sequels are all good, its better than not having them at all, and be stuck watching reruns of tv's crappy sitcoms.
Read teh book, and watched the oringinal, wasnt aware of the sequal or tv movie.
book is great. movie was alright but missed to manyt key parts out
