Default The Stephen King Novel League Table

    Dear All,

I have read approx 26 SK works at this point (and more to come), please take a glance at my own SK novel league table: It would be great if you could do likewise and lets see what gets people's boats floating!

    'Salems Lot
    Misery
    The Dark Tower, Part 4
    Cujo
    Christine
    The Dark Tower, Part 5
    The Mist
    The Dark Tower, Part 7
    The Dead Zone
    Duma Key
    Firestarter
    Pet Semetary
    Children of the Corn
    The Shining
    Bag Of Bones
    The Dark Tower, Part 3
    The Dark Tower, Part 1
    Carrie
    Desperation
    The Dark Half
    The Dark Tower, Part 2
    1408
    The Tommyknockers
    IT
    The Stand
The Dark Tower, Part 6 (Very confusing!)
    Cell (The Stand-lite!)
    The Talisman (couldn't finish it)

..on the way, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, Needful Things and Under the Dome

Am I the only 'Constant Reader who ultimately feels let down by both the endings of The Stand and IT?????

    Enjoy!

I felt letdown by the endings of The Stand, and It... basically because they ended

As far as the end content, I had no complaints on either. I'm grateful that two books of that caliber exist and that I had the presence of mind to experience them.

    Hi,

    Yes, me too exactly.

And foretelling the future in my crystal ball, I can see that my first comment on Under the Dome will be - 'too damned short'.

As it was with Dark Tower.

    Long days and pleasant nights

    I'll throw in a "Top 5"...

    The Stand
    The Dead Zone
    IT
    Insomnia
    Christine

Of course, I'll probably change my mind in 5 minutes...

Thanks all for your responses - much appreciated.

God, can you tell me / confirm for me that you founf 4 Past Midnight the most enjoyable SK novel you have read?

Does anyone else agree with me that 'Salems Lot is awesome and tops their league table?

Finally, can anyone tell me whether 'Cycle of the Werewolf' is any good - no spoilers please!

I was away on a work trip and I brought the Talisman to keep me company -

In all honesty I found the two parallel worlds something like one would experience on an acid trip - e.g. everytime the main character drank from a bottle (of something?) he went into another world or something???? for me that is just too bloody easy to write unlike The Dark Tower series which has so many twists and turns and with the exception of Part 6 (Susannah) one is just mesmorised by the world you are travelling in with Roland and his crew.

Srbo, have you read the Talisman? What's your take?
