Compared to the DARK TOWER series, is CAPTAIN TRIPS worth picking up?

Well, I would say its pretty good so long as you read The Stand first. With the DT series, I have enjoyed the comics so far, but am glad to have read the books, it's such an epic story that you will want every bit of detail you can get. The artwork alone though gets me to buy every issue.

I bought CAPTAIN TRIPS a few weeks back. I've read THE STAND, but haven't yet got to the book (it does have nice artwork, though).

I haven't seen the DT books but I do have most of The Stand series. I'm missing the last issue of Captain Trips and a couple issues of American Nightmare. I'm loving them! I'm also re-reading The Stand for the umpteenth time; it's been a delicious experience!

The art work is outstanding and the story is very true to the original.
