    Default Advance Reader's Copy

I am anxiously awaiting this title.
I wish I had a job where I had to read advance reader copies of novels...and I could read Under the Dome early.
    That would be swell.

Just read on Twitter by someone who got one directly from Nan Graham. Don't know the guy but I hate him.

HAHA! I love King's quote on the UK copy. "I sure hope people like it."

Ms. Mod, I've noticed quite a number of "Hardcover Advance Readers Copies" of Under the Dome on eBay recently. These seem to be actual first edition, first printings of the book without the dust jacket but with a small sticker on the bottom back with a different ISBN number printed on it. Some of them also advertise a Publisher's Letter with them. Do you have any idea as to why Simon & Schuster is issuing these? Have they exhausted their print run of the blue proof and that's why they are sending these out?

They did a much smaller run than usual of the uncorrected proof copies so have been sending out unjacketed hardcovers to people who are supposed to be legitimate reviewers. As for the Ebay scumbags, I'll be sending their links to Scribner's Legal Department for follow-up. I especially liked the notation in one of the reviewer copies stating that the book is being offered unread.

Hey everybody! I'm new here and thought I'd join in on this discussion. I work part time at a local indie bookstore to make a little extra cash. Our book buyer got an advance of [I]Under the Dome[I] and knowing I'm as huge a fan of SK as her, she let me borrow it when she was finished. I was wondering why it was hardcover and why there were no mistakes inside (as advance copies are obviously prone to have). Thanks for the explanation. As for people selling them on e-bay, that's the whole reason his stuff usually isn't sent out in advance in the first place. Hopefully these get taken down in a hurry.

Anyway, many are going to be jealous of those who have an advance of the book, but I'm jealous of those without an advance, because you can still read it for the first time! Now that I'm finished I'm mad at myself for not waiting! It was fantastic! Has anyone else had the pleasure of reading it yet? I wouldn't mind a thread where we can talk about it without spoiling it for those who haven't had the chance.

There is a Social Group started which you can join in when you've had 10 posts but I've asked folks to not discuss specific plot points until after the book is released because Steve does not want that type of information out there ahead of time.
