Only SK could create a nightmare like Geralds Game. It haunted me for weeks and It is truely fantastic that the book has only one character. Killing off the only other character, Gerald at the very start.

I agree. Not one of the better known stories. Would make a fabulous film. Especially when the dog comes in. But when opening a jar I always remember lefty loosey righty tighty
The same is true for The Girl who Loved Tom Gordon, and I also enjoyed it - very Hitchcock.
"Nightmare" is spot on. I've read every SK book and personally find Gerald's Game to be the most horrific - not necessarily in terms of Jessie's escape from her predicament (that was just gross), but in terms of the psychological feel of the book and her encounters with The Space Cowboy/Raymond Andrew Joubert.
I'm convinced that Joubert is the nastiest character ever created in the mind of Stephen King.
Ok this is my fav book Not sure really why I guess cause it was my first SK book I read. The whole idea of the book scares me
