It will be revealed in stages beginning in late September. October will be the final reveal.
Stages?????
Like we'll see the large golden letters of STEPHEN KING one week, then the title the following week and finally (ohhhhh, ahhhhh) the picture?
Surprised they haven't thought of releasing the book itself in stages (ala Green Mile)
Though- while that worked quite effectively for Green Mile, they shouldn't do that ALL the time.
Stages..... ugh what a dumb idea
Although (after thinking about it for a second or two) IF they mean they will reveal the BACK cover so that we can read the plot (though, those fans who really wanted to know the plot by now, ALREADY have READ the plot)
THEN the spine portion of the book (which is kinda dumb since it's, after all, just the spine with king's name and the title and a bit of an extention of the cover)
KTHEN the actual cover......
THEN, maybe then, its a decent idea
But again, for me, it's just bells and whistles instead of a good teaser.
It's like being forced to wear 3-D goggles to be tricked into seeing a new film
PUT a good story on the screen and you don't NEED 3-D goggles (in fact you wont have to worry about bad attendance in theaters at all)
I think it would be better to release whole chapters. In fact, key moments of the story as a cliffhanger/teaser
Perhaps starting in October
One chapter a week--NOW your talking about something that would attract attention
but again- thats just me
I think it's amazing how much time, energy - and hype! - goes into a book's cover art. I'm dumbfounded by how well I can recollect the cover art for most of the books that I've read, given the fact that I don't give them much conscious consideration. I'm curious - and perhaps the Moderator could answer his - how much money goes into the research and development of one book's cover art.
Sorry, no, I'm not at liberty to say any more than that.![]()
Hi,
Personally, it could come in a plain brown wrapper as far as I'm concerned.
The first thing I'll be doing anyway is taking it off and reading the BOOK!
Long days and pleasant nights
Not intentionally.![]()
