I looked up the publisher for the "Complete and Uncut" tapes I have. They actually did come from a service for blind people. It was from the "National Library Service for the Blind" or something. I was wondering why the case of tapes looked so shabby. I bought it at a garage sale, so I don't know where they got it from exactly. Either way, I'm glad I got it as a recording. I think I might put it on CDs if my brother will show me how to do it. Someone might be able to get a copy of it through this service, as I imagine it is free. Thanks for all the welcomes, by the way.

Yes, I too wish that someone would do a proper audiobook of The Stand. That still is probably my all time fav King novel.

I notice that a lot of older King novels are getting official unabridged audiobook releases early next year - such It, Dark Half, The Long Walk, Cujo, Firestarter, Eyes of the Dragon, Tommyknockers, Christine. But no The Stand. I have them all on order except the Bachman novelas. They are up for preorder at Amazon.

Hopefully The Stand will turn up eventually.

I wish they'd release Skeleton Crew as well. It got a complete tape release a long long time ago, but the only digital version is a paltry selections.

I briefly heard the tape version a few years ago, and I really didn't like it. The voice sounded almost like computerized speak. There was no way I was going to listen to that for 20+ hours.
