    Default Better With Time

I'm not sure if I'm the only one who's experienced this, but I find that I enjoy the novel more and more over time.
I have to admit that when I first read From a Buick 8 when it came out, I was a little confused.
In hindsight though, and seeing how it fits into the bigger picture, I'm much more receptive.

    Hi,

Exactly the same, I didn't think that much of From a Buick 8 on publication, but I enjoyed it far more on a re-read after reading DT, it definitely grows on you IMO.

I believe that Sai King only turned in the manuscript of it a week before his accident, which, given the nature of the accident recounted in B8, is just plain spooky IMO

    Long days and pleasant nights

felt that way about cell, tj. read this one, fab8, couple three times now and you're prolly right. seems like there was confusion at first and like that muddy water if you let the faucet run long enough, it clears up.

i feel the exact opposite. read it now three or four times. just finished the last read a couple days ago. there were a few surprises this time. imagine that. how'd i miss that the first two or three times. i think i enjoyed this story the first time through. read a mcbain story in between, or after, mischief. was going to carry an sk on the plane w/me tomorrow. but started koko, by straub, a re-read, too. can't seem to find the stories i want at the store. used stuff. sold the house, bought a ticket for the fabulous city and that feeling of unease is back again now. it'd left for a time, back again. maybe the expectation of homeland security pawing through my personals. worse when you know one of the gals working with the rubber gloves and the batton metal detector was let go for pilfering from a local business--like, how'd she get a job homeland security?--can't wait to see what a clusterfock health care will become...a few days, w/any luck i'll be singing homeward bound! toodles.

Just got done reading this over the weekend. Good book!

Don't know if it can be related to DT series or not, (I haven't read it yet.) but I did enjoy the way it was told.

Sort of reminds me of the way family or friends will get together and somehow get on a subject about either a strange house or place of supernatural doings.

Except this was with a car.

Moving on to Regulators--so far so good.

Guess some things you have to let sit for a while.
