    Default Lisa Simpson Reads SK

My library just got the new N&D on cd collection "Dolan's Cadillac & other stories" and as fate would have it I was preparing a long drive. First let me say it was great, very well read. But "Rainy Season" was read by Yeardley Smith(sp?) and all I could think of was Lisa Simpson, sitting up late at night reading this under the covers with a flashlight. I was even for some odd reason shocked when I heard her say some of the 4-letter words, because, well, Lisa wouldn't say those. LOL!

Just for some background trivia, most of the readers for the N&D audiobook had worked with Steve in the past. He had gotten to know Yeardley Smith while directing the movie, Maximum Overdrive, and that was the story he asked her to read.

I've always thought Gary Sinise put in a fabulous performance in The Fifth Quarter. He's such a talented actor who gets so little attention for what he does...hopefully he does some more audiobook work in the future.

I have just started with audio books and Really am enjoying them. So I love to read posts about them and learn more,I got several at a yardsale the other day for a $1.00 each. My week for listening and not so much reading.

Oh man, Simpsons and King, my two favorite subjects! I love the episode where King makes a cameo on the Simpsons, discussing his new non-horror book, a biography of Benjamin Franklin, and how his key on the end of the kite opened the gates to hell ("Lemme know when you get back to horror," Marge replies). You know you've made it in the world when you appear on the Simpsons (despite the show's past decade of decline). If I was King (and I am), that would be the pinnacle of my success.

I love this audio book to death, because Tim Curry = my favourite narrator for anything ever. The end. But I also loved Rob Lowe's reading of Dolan's Cadillac.

Damn really? I didn't even know this one existed. I'm going to have to get my hands on a copy.
Thanks for the info. This sounds killer.
