Then I suppose you haven't seen any movies besides 1408, correct?

Excuse me, Steve, but the movie is better. I think that this story is boring, movie quite better, but other books of SK are more interesting than the movies

I'm probably going to be the major dissenter but I enjoyed the movie as I think John Cusack's way to saying lines, almost as if he's trying his best to hide a smirk because he's so impressed with own narration, was a great touch and Cusack is a great actor and does give a great performance.

One of the other aspects that I thought the movie had that the short story lacked was the way the room tormented Enslin. In the book it's more vague and told from a reporter's aspect but in the movie we get to see Enslin tormented by himself without hearing it from a secondary source. I also didn't like the character of Enslin in the book as much as I did in the movie. Cusack's characterization made me like and want to follow the character throughout the narrative whereas in the book I didn't care as much.

I do prefer the appearance of the evil in the short story as in the movie it's never made clear exactly to what extend does the evil occupy or manifest within the room.

MOVIE way better, SSS (Say Sorry Steve). I don't think the story itself warranted a movie to begin with, wasn't it only 10-15 pages? So I knew going into it that there'd be changes and I think Cusack did a really FINE job with the role. The story was creepy but for me it just worked better on screen. ps. HEY JAN! you finally made it!

I agree 100%. I liked the book better and The Mist and The Shining were indeed, remarkable adaptations. On a side note: I do not see any movie until I've read that book. To me, it feels a little bit awkward to do it in reverse. Tried it once and made up my mind not to do it again lol

I thought the film was well done. Not always the case with SK work.

I've seen the film for three years ago and it liked me. I'm sacred in some pieces of the film. For 2 or 3 days I read the 1408's tale and I will be able to express an opinion.
