Smile Love the book so much!

This is one of King's better story collections. Everythings Eventual has some great stories! I have one question though, In the acutal story Everythings Eventual, I didn't understand the end. What does he mean when he adds the word, excalibur to the end of the leter and call it the only word that matters?

Spoiler button for those yet to read the story. My interpretation:

Dinky's letters were only effective when he added a word peculiar to his target that made it personal. MUFFIN in the case of the guy in Columbus. In Mr. Sharpton's case, it was EXCALIBUR making reference to the tie Sharpton wore with swords on it. That word made the letter personal to Sharpton... and lethal.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

If you haven't read the Dark Tower cycle of novels yet, I'd go and purchase The Gunslinger and Drawing of the Three immediately.

    Long days and pleasant nights

You already got a good reply from bopropadop, so I won't repeat it, but I totally agree with you: This is one of King's best story collections and many times while reading it I felt a pleasant chill run down my spine, which is always to me a proof of a fine King book.

    Hello everyone,

I've been reading stephen king books on and off for the last few years starting with the dark tower series (which are by far the most imaginative and enjoyable series of books i have ever read) and have recently just finished reading Everythings Eventual which i thought was fantastic. In particular the little sisters of Eluria was truly great, like slipping into a pair of comfy old shoes; it was wonderful to visit mid-world again. The thing that surprises me most about Kings books is that i am thus far (ive read about 17 of his books) loving every single one of them

Read this book last month and found it hard to put down! I'd already seen 1408 a few months prior to reading the book, one of the reasons I picked it, and it didn't disappoint
Think my favourite was The Little Sisters Of Eluria closely followed by Autopsy Room Four.
Just working my way through that classic The Shining
