maybe i have the wrong end of the stick, but does the short story of everythings eventual have anything to do with the dark tower?
and what are the dark tower books about, can anyone shed any light for me?

Yes indeed E.E. and D.T. are related, but I don't want to go into specifics and thus ruin what will be a fun discovery for you.
The series itself is an epic tale of one man's quest to save everything as we know it (and some things we don't know and will never understand). Think of a Lord of the Rings meets a Clint Eastwood western. Many of Kings other works tie into the Dark Tower series which makes reading the other novels a pleasure when you find a reference to the tower.
The best gauge is for you to pick up the series and begin the journey. Most King fans are not disappointed.
Good luck and let us know what you think.
I don't think it has anything to actually do with the Dark Tower series, but Stephen King always puts little things that relate to the Dark Tower in his books.
thanks, think i shall give it a read, i really liked the everythings eventual short story, and i was dissapointed it wasn't longer.
I'll agree with you on that point, certainly, though I'd also like to think that Roland evolved to the point that he did exhibit feelings, for his ka-tet in particular.
And by pursuing his goal of reaching The Tower, he was fulfilling the greater good of restoring things to their proper order.
I agree that Roland loves the people in his Tet but if it came down to it they all would be sacrificed if that's what ka wants. He might even think that he is trying to save them He calls Eddie ka mai a few times throughout, ka's fool, but I think that title belongs to Roland.
I am reading Everything's Eventual. I am on the second story and find it to be a very good book. I can't wait to get to page 529 and read 1408. I also have to check out the Dark Tower series. I may be missing some good books from what I hear.
I loved everyting's eventual. I remember wayyyy back this story was released on a computer game called F13. Does anyone else have that game? I used to love it, you could play a bug squishing game, and listen to sound effects, and you also got to read this story in its entirety. I was so excited when I found out that it was being published in a collection.
