cell movie?

I have heard the rumors, and seen the other posts, but does anyone know any details? Is a movie of Cell actually underway? There is an unbelievable amount of potential there undoubtedly...

Um Eli Roth was attached to direct it, but thank God he has now left the project. Maybe a better director will get on the project now *cough* Frank Darabont *cough* Other than that, I haven't heard anything new.

That would suck if it only came out on tv, lol No way it should be in theaters I think it's worthy of that by far.

I'm less that thrilled about this project. I see too many options to ***k up the story and I hate watching book-based movies that are disappointing, and alas - most are.

maybe it being a series wouldn't be to bad at all but I can sypathise with the people that want it to be a movie in the theaters .

I think that whoever does this film will just make it like a George A. Romero zombie movie, his movies are good but Cell isn't like that- or at least i didn't see it as a story about zombies.
