I fell in love with Susan Delgado

I also fell in love with Susan Delgado. I was barracking for the couple to get out of Meijis, safely to Gilead ... only to have my heart wrenched by the way they lost so completely in the final round. I don't usually cry when reading books. But I was screaming out to Roland to do something other than stare, transfixed, to save her ....

I just finished W&G. While I can't honestly say that I *loved* Susan, I did enjoy reading about the love she and Roland shared with each other. I hated to see her life end the way it did, and I hated even more that she had to be pregnant. Her death would have been plenty sad enough without that unnecessary additive .

After Susan's second or third meeting with Roland, before they did the dance with no pants, we read about her lying in bed sexually fantasizing about Roland. Immediately after reading the words "she burned for him," the word *FORSHADOW* darted through my brain. I love being right!

I admit it... I'm a grown man and I cried at the end of the Meijis tale...

I made it fine through the end of the Mejis part of the story... sort of, but I absolutely lost it when Jake says: "I'm sorry you lost your friend."

I liked Susan, and I cried for her, and for what Roland lost, it breaks my heart every time...
