I could not believe my eyes last night. They have created a doll where the child puts on smock with two flowers on the breast and the doll pretends to breast feed. Holy Crow!! I don't think that kids need this kind of doll. Just my opinion.

I'd rather have a child play with that—and girls who know what breastfeeding is already pretend to do that with their dolls along with changing diapers, burping, and other normal child care activities; it doesn't feel "right" to use a bottle if you've seen your mom breastfeed your little brother or sister—than the Bratz dolls, which are not nearly as bad currently as they were ten years ago but are still hyper-sexualized and encourage, IMO, the worst kind of superficiality.
I do understand why some people would not be comfortable with it, but I think we do harm by suggesting to young girls that there is anything wrong with breastfeeding or that it is not a proper use of their bodies. Breastfeeding a baby is not a sexual activity; it is a nurturing activity, just like rocking, singing, cuddling, feeding, or bathing.
I think some teenagers might find it helpful!
They should make a doll that craps Hershey's Kisses so's you could open the diaper & then eat em!
We could call her "Candy Sprinkles"![]()
I am in total agreement with you!! Why can't they let kids be kids for as long as they can be. It's a rough world out there for adults.
See? Now I, for one, do not want to picture either of my girls doing this at such a young age. IMO, it only creates their excitement to become "mommies". Like mothers from day one, we will all learn how to do it as we go. While we are adult mommies. No need to learn this much while we are still children.
It is a doll, after all. I think they could do much worse than encourage girls who will eventually become women, to think about breastfeeding as an alternative to bottle feeding. I agree with Todash on this subject.
Umm...I definitely don't agree with this doll. Not because it is wrong to teach about breast feeding as I think that is a good thing, I just feel uncomfortable looking at that picture.
Although breast feeding is one of the most natural acts in the world I believe a little girl walking around doing that with a doll could possibly attract the wrong kind of attention by certain types of people...yes we all know I mean the P word!!
Little girls play with dolls innocently and I don't think the whole 'bottle or breast' debate should be something they even contemplate understanding at such a young age.
