    Default I LOVED this movie.

I haven't yet read the short story (I think it's included in "Skeleton Crew", right? I have that book, have yet to read it, though), but I absolutely loved the movie. I'm sure I will probably like the short story better when I do read it (I tend to like the books better than their film adaptions), but just judging it AS IS, I loved it. One of my all time favorite horror movies.

The Mist is one of the best Stephen King adaptations I've yet seen. The ending was absolutely perfect and had one of the bleakest endings I've ever seen in a movie. For my money, Frank Darabont should be give first dibs on every SK adaptation from now on.

i like the book and this is a great adaptation, really good

but... (unpopular opinion i know) the ending is kind of ridiculous and spoiled it imo

the ending in the book is perfect for me

I've read the short story, and I must say (here it goes...) I liked the movie better. The Short story is very good but I like what Frank made with the base..you know the characters are easier to relate to , and many other things, plus the ending...I mean in any other flick, that kind of ending would make me say 'now come on..are you serious?' but here I was like...wow...Loved the picture, one of my favs

Thumbs down Re: I LOVED this movie.

I loved The Mist, too. It was never one of my favorite stories, but seeing the movie made me re read it and I enjoyed it more the second time around. I thought the movie ending was much better than the stories The Bids ending. Darabont is the MAN!

Just finished reading the short story yesterday, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I liked the movie far better. I thought a lot of the changes that were made were excellent decisions, such as making David NOT cheat on his wife (that part in the book just angered me) and making him have some of the most critical ideas. He also seemed more courageous in the movie, it seemed. I also loved how the movie was more focused around Carmondy's influence, and how many of the lines were changed to different individuals. It created a sort of forboding feeling almost from the start. She felt more tacked-on in the book. And I just love how one particular scene was added at the right time. I wasn't particularly fond of the ending to the book, so I'm glad that got changed. The ending the movie just felt RIGHT. Well...not RIGHT, but you know what I mean. Lol.

This is very rear to me: I haven't read the story, but I saw the movie. The movie really is great, and I guess I have to read the story too, though I've never been a big fan of short stories, as a form of literature.
