I read the short story "Everything's Eventual" after reading the Dark Tower just to see what Dinky Earnshaw was all about. I really thought it was great! Who else thinks this would have made a great and longer novel?

It has been a long time since I read Everything's Eventual, but I remember loving every story and smiling from ear to ear whenever I saw that cover with blood dripping in the glass. Sounds morose, doesn't it? But I assure you, it was the stories that made me smile. Now, sigh, I've got to go read them all over again! Thanks! No really, thank you!

I agree, Everything's Eventual is an expandable story. But since Mr King is so dang busy, I don't think he'll find time to expand it to a novel anytime soon.

So, I can let my imagination fill in the rest of what happens between the end of the short story and Dinky's arrival in Blue Heaven. Then I can comtemplate where Dinky ends up after Blue Heaven.

Everything's Eventual is my second favorite sK short story after The End of the Whole Mess; the Nightmares and Dreamscapes film production of which was, in my opinion, really good and true to sK's story.

I think it is good as it is. If it was made longer sai King would have to think of more to do with Dinky and his strange ability.

I just read this story a few days ago. So far, it has been my fav in the book. I totally agree with you though, would have made a great longer story. I can think of so many possibilities

But doesn't he die? At the end he keeps seeing the symbols flash on the screen and in the letter. Doesn't that mean that another tranny is doing the same to him? Maybe after he writes his final letter?

I wonder how Mr. Sharpton's talk with Dinky, if any, connects to the new book where he tells Dinky that it was a woman who kill JFK and not Lee harvey Oswald.

Just wondering if anyone else picked up on that?

Elemeno P -- I have been thinking about that as well. But of course, there are many worlds, worlds within worlds. On some of those worlds, Sharpton may be right.
