Seriously? You think gang members buy their weapons with vouchers at a gun shop where they have to go through a background check?

Similar to the 'Cash for Clunkers' savings program which can be seen as NINE free pistols, or THREE free 'assault rifles', except these can be purchased with cash on the black market with no pesky background check!

In effect, Harley is promoting legal activity, while the Fed is promoting gun smuggling!

And yes, I am, intentionally, being just as silly as the BBC.

Yes, only in America where hyper-hysteria runs amock everywhere...even outside the Bible-belt.

Too many people ready to believe anything they hear, whether backed up with legitimate sources or just oversized windbags (Rush), are afraid Obama's going to take their guns away. *Sigh*

There were several car dealerships in Iowa a few months back who were making a similar offer...voucher for a gun if ya buy a new car.

Guns don't kill people. People kill people.

Should we not believe Obama? Perhaps you missed when Obama promised to infringe on our Right to keep and bear arms? That might explain your confusion.

    http://change.gov/agenda/urbanpolicy_agenda/

Address Gun Violence in Cities: Obama and Biden would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama and Biden also favor commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals. They support closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. They also support making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent.

All this in violation of his Oath to support and defend the Constitution, which enshrines our Right to keep and bear arms, uninfringed. You show me a 'commonsense measures' gun control law, and I'll show you an unconstitutional infringement. They are scared to make a move right now because they know we will fight them, and we have the means to do it. Feinstein is biding her time, choosing the right time to strike... duh, we aren't stupid. If Obama wins a second term, they will hit with everything they have. I expect they will try an all out ban on civilian owned firearms. They will surely take my firearms, but they will have to figure out what to do with all of the ammunition I will insist they take first. If the police lose a few men in a gunfight every tenth house they try to search, it won't take long until officers begin calling in sick, or just quitting. Civilians only outnumber the police by 5000 to 1. I may not survive it, but if 3% of the gun owners resist, we will secure our freedom. It is possible, even if only 1% resists. Everyone owes a death, not many people get to choose how to pay that debt. Freedom for posterity is a worthy cause.

The power to regulate guns, the Fed has claimed, comes from the power to regulate interstate commerce. Intra-state commerce is not within the power of the Federal government. Closing the so-called 'gun show loophole' has nothing to do with gun shows. It is about seizing power that belongs to the States. Not on my watch.

If I hold my AR 15 carbine semi-automatic, the press calls it an automatic assault weapon, but when a policeman has one in his patrol car that IS capable of automatic fire, it is called a patrol rifle. Nothing to do with reality, everything to do with an agenda to disarm the free citizens of the US. Again, not on my watch.

I have nothing to fear from armed, law-abiding citizens. I have no reason to believe that criminals, who by definition don't obey laws, will be in any way hindered by gun control laws. However, the law-abiding citizens are rendered defenseless by the government's gun control, and are thereby made dependent on a government that, as seen in our courts, have no legal responsibility to protect the citizens. What a mess. That is why the Founders made sure to protect our Natural Right to self-defense against both street criminals and tyrannical government, by enshrining it in our supreme law. I will protect it with my life, according to my Oath. I hope the enemies of freedom lose sleep over it.

I am thinking 'fishy' anti-Socialist agenda thoughts. Don't forget to report me to flag@whitehouse.gov

Well, my country is certainly very violent even by human standards... but I hardly see this as an example of it. Harley giving out gun vouchers is doing nothing but encouraging people to obtain their guns legally. Most people who have the intention of killing somebody in our country don't do so, they get guns of the Black Market, which is often easier. Ever since the attempted Reagan assassination it's been much more difficult to get a gun in the United States than it used to be. And just because Harley gives you a voucher doesn't mean you can walk in and say "that one" and they just hand it to you there no problem easy as pie.

The Tennessee state legislature made this former Tennessean SO proud when it overturned a veto by Governor Phil Bredesen, thereby passing legislation allowing handguns on the premises of restaurants. Not. This includes establishments that serve alcohol.

    Guns and hootch...what a combo.
