Death Note

Hey Guys,

I was curious if anyone on the forums has read or watched the Anime series "Death Note". For those of you not familiar with the series, the main character finds this notebook on the grounds of his school, with the words "Death Note" on the cover. The way the Death Note works is, once a person's name is written in the book, 40 seconds later, they die of a heart attack. There are more guidelines to how the book works, but that's the basic premise. The finder uses the notebook to dispose of criminals, but soon develops a godlike mentality, as he is being pursued by a extremely clever detective named "L", who is trying to figure out how all of these criminals are dying.

It's an awesome series. Even if you're not a fan of Japanese animation or Manga (Japanese Graphic Novels), it is definitely worth a look. There were even two live action films created based on the novels, which I haven't seen yet, but plan on soon.

The other question I have, for those that have seen the series. If you were to find a real life Death Note, do you think you would you use it?

When I see so many people who hurt other people, especially innocent children, the temptation would be very strong to use such an instrument to rid the world of these evil persons. BUT, BUT, BUT too much power is not good either no matter how it is used.

No, I haven't seen "Death Note." And no, I don't believe I would use a death note. Bad karma, so I am told.

This should be in the TV forum, but yes, I have watched it. It is an ingenious series with clever twists and turns. It goes DEEP into the different permutations of a core theme and explores them with a full understanding of human nature. One of the better anime series as far as plot goes.

never heard of them. but will have a look my son loves the manga comics.
if i did find a real life death note i would only use it on a couple of people.
1. the dead beat supost to be dad to my son that has never seen him since he was 4.
2 all the sex offenders in the world.
3. all the politicians in the world

Hi, I'm a fanatic for anime Death Note.
Well, if I were to find a real life Death Note certainly I will use the same way as Raito Yagami, "Who I don't to judge a good person, will die."

so by couple me mean couple million? Lol.

I caught a few episodes of it; a better show than I expected (<-- not a fan of anime).

I don't know whether I would use it or not, but I would certainly want to.

This is very great anime series i watched when it first aired in 2006 here in Japan. I watched it in English to see how they sound with American voices. As for your question for what i would use the death note if I found it in real life... the world doesn't need sex offenders or rapist for that matter.
