Thanks John. There all well and good but where's The Stand, Duma Key, The Green Mile? What were they thinking? Just kidding... well, sort of.
1984, The Catcher In The Rye, Lord Of The Flies, To Kill A Mockingbird, 2001:A Space Oddysey, A Scanner Darkly...
Salem's Lot is certainly keeping some exalted company here.
SK might be a little less impressed to be sharing a list with Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight", however.![]()
I think that Salem's Lot is in VERY distinguished company!
John
With something like Twilight on the list...I think they meant the most popular book...I mean come on, there is no reason SK should be on the list once...but then again, they only have J.K. Rowling on the list once and her books were much better than stuff like the Twilight books. I guess they didn't want to put an author on the list more than once.
"Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone" over "Underworld", "Cold Mountain" and "American Pastoral"?
"Twilight" over "Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell" and "Gilead"?
Oh well still mostly great company for Mr King
What happened in 2005? I'm sure there was something better that year! Anything at all!
As for Harry Potter, that was a pretty good series. It earned its place.
Anyway, that's a great list! 'Salem's Lot definitely deserves high recognition, it's one of my favorite King novels and one of my favorite books in general.
