    Default Sookie Stackhouse/ True Blood

What are your thoughts on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris? I am on book 4 and the series is one of my favorite. If any of you have watched Six Feet Under on HBO, you'll know that the creator Alan Ball started the True Blood series on HBO. Both, in my O, are great? What do you think?

I just read the first book last week. I like both the books and the show. I really got into the Laurell K. Hamilton books staring Anita Blake vampire hunter. I've been on a vampire supernatural spree lately

I read the first book, I like it, can't find the second and waiting for the reserves to come in. Fan of Twilight are comparing them, no competition here, imo, much better and sexier. And I love Sookie Stackhouse, she's just the kinda girl you want as your heroine, smart, tough and totally self-reliant, no need a man to save her life! Humph!

I haven't read the books, but I am a big fan of the series. HBO does some great series work. The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, John From Cincinnatti, and True Blood are all great TV, IMHO. They are not, however for the puritan or the faint of heart.

I am addicted to these books! I don't have HBO but you'd have to live on Mars not to have heard of TrueBlood so when the dvd's came out I got them from the library and watched them all back to back. When I returned them I just had to get all the books! They are great! They don't match the show but it's ok, it's close enough for me. I just wish she'd write more than one a year, I don't think I can wait that long!

I've not read the books, but my g/f has and devours them (sorry! lol). She's kind of undecided on the series - perhaps because she has never liked Anna Paquin - but it's becoming a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.

I think the series on HBO is just about the best show on TV right now. I have been curious about the books but I suspect they are going to be geared toward love sick women of some sort or a twilight fan + 10+ years in age.

I read all of the books - enjoyed them very much. The TV series is quite a bit different, so any of you worried about getting too many spoilers from the books need not fear. The only problem I had from reading the books was the ridiculous Eric infatuation that has yet to subside.
