    Default About to re-read

Kind of excited because my wife bought me Pet Sematary for our anniversary (I lost my original a few years back). I'm about to re-read it, and reading these posts is making me crazy - sitting in my office right now, waiting to be done with class. The only thing I can honestly remember about the book (kind of like It...forgetting everything) was the end when the wife is 'dead' and standing behind the husband (ya, I've even forgotten the names of characters). She also bought Duma Key which I have yet to read - any thoughts on that novel?

Loved Pet Sematary and now thanks to you I'll have to go reread it . It was one of the first books by Mr/ King I've ever read and it was frightening, wonderful and creepy -what else can I possibly want from a book?

As for Dume Key - many constant readers list it as thier favorite. I wouldn't though. It's not bad, just far from being in my top 5 (or let's face it -10 list), but hey -that's just me. Read it and I'll be happy to hear your opinion.

The Duma Key is REALLY good. If you like ghost stories, this is a great read.

LOVED Pet Sematary. Haven't read Duma Key. Btw, isn't that bit about the wife considered a spoiler??? Thankfully I read the book before reading this post, lol.

You are so right, JD. Years ago I had the bad habit of flipping to the last page of any book I was considering buying and read the last line. Of course, as this was written by SK I was going to open the 'ol wallet anyway. After I read that line, my plans for the rest of the day went out the window. After I returned to the ranch, I poured a large glass of ice tea, chased the cat off the rocking chair on the porch, and got busy. WOW!

So this was the third SK book i read ( read it just after the shining) and it was hands down one the best books i have ever read. and i have to say that the ending was one of the best in the history of the written word (that's right, i said it!) and frankly, i am shocked that more than a few SK fans did not care for the ending. as Sai King himself said of the Dark Tower ending, it was the "right ending". a "happy ending" to Pet Semetary would have blighted the excellent plot. i have to commend King for writing such a perfect ending. i simply cannot say too many good things about this book. a true masterpiece, and underrated.

Pet Semetary is my favorite Stephen King novel! I plan on re-reading it this summer! Have fun re-reading it!
