    Default Finally!

After years of owning THINNER, I've finally gotten around to reading it. I'm not exactly sure why I put it off for so long, but I'm now kicking myself for doing so.

This is a very good book. I'm up to "Ginelli's Story", and can't wait to see what the mobster has done to the Gypsy clan.

What are others thoughts on THINNER?

Took me FOREVER to find this book. My favorite older brother lost it from our local library, and not wanting to get him into trouble, I couldn't go to the librarian and inquire after its whereabouts or ask them to get another one .

And you are right - it was worth waiting for.

I loved it too! Most of the Bachman Books are good. It's King served up straight with a little twist..

    Enjoy your read.

I finished this book a few weeks ago. And it still resonates with me. That ending was fabulous! And the gypsy pie (the original working title of the book if I'm not mistaken) gave me the chills. Could you imagine biting into that sucker?

I just finished rereading Thinner for the first time in something like fifteen years.

It's a better novel than I'd remembered (my memory was that it was kinda bad). I still don't think it's anything special, but I think I get something out of it now that I never got out of it before: that the Gypsys are the good guys in this particular story, and that Halleck and his partners in neglect ... well, they kinda have it coming.

I think the saying goes "Eat a piece of your own pie" or something like that, I don't know. But either way, it seems fitting, doesn't it? I love this story of revenge, and the whole allegory behind it.

And that saying was wrong. Revenge is a dish best served warm.
