    Default Atlanta signing: Advice, please!

Okay, Ms. Mod has posted that they'll be giving out wristbands to go to Stephen's Atlanta signing at Barnes and Nobel.
I so wanted to be able to secure a wristband over the phone, but I'm sure it will be a get-in-line-and-hope-you-get-a-wristband the day of the signing, with possibly around 250 bands given out (?).
I just don't want to drive for 8 hours to get there only to be turned away and drive back!!!!!!!!!!
Help! There's no way to guarantee I'll get a wristband, is there?
    I am so depressed...

I'm going to call my contact there tomorrow to try to get some clarification on this. The way it was worded, it sounded to me like you would be able to contact them and reserve a spot. If they're going to only do it by the first 200-250 in line, then I want to be able to let people know that before they make travel plans. The whole point of doing the wristbands is to not have disappointed fans--or at least to the extent possible. I'll post an update as soon as I'm able to get information.

Thank you so much, Ms Mod. You are a true jewel!
Please tell them if they don't want a huge crowd camping out in front of their store, to make reservations available to us true fans! They will not have any problems getting all the reservations taken, I'm sure. Even if I have to pay extra for the reservation, that would be just extree good!

I just got off the phone with the store. She said about one month before the signing they would have one certain day they will give out wristbands. They will not hold them or mail them to anyone. You must show up in person to get one.

That doesn't really seem fair to me. That means that people that plan on travelling from out of town have to go there TWICE, once to get a wristband and again for the actual signing. There's gonna be a line either way, so why not just do it the day of the event, or better yet, make it easy for everyone and do it by phone or online. I really hope it goes smoothly and everyone that wants to go gets to.

Pictures will not be allowed for a couple of reasons; it slows things down and only two hours are allotted for the signing and the flash from the cameras can become a problem for Steve. You know how it is to try to see after having your picture taken a few times with a flash going off in your eyes.

That's pretty logical . . .my eyes take forever to readjust after just one flash.
