    Default Question about the ending

In the book it's said that both Thomas and Dennis leave Delain and go after Flagg, King ends the book by saying this is a story for another time. So here's my question: Does Thomas and Dennis face Flagg again in another The Dark Tower series (because that's the only story I can imagine the three characters returning, although I didn't read any of the seven books), or not?

If not, somebody knows if King plans to write something like The Eyes of the Dragon 2?

This is a spoiler, but since you asked, the answer is simply:

No. Dennis and Thomas never make an appearance in the Dark Tower series, they never face Flagg again. I do believe Roland makes brief reference to them at one point in Wizard and Glass, but that's it. Dunno if there's going to be an Eyes of the Dragon 2, but I'm leaning towards a no for that too.

I would say no simply because it is implied that the reader has stumbled upon something like a bed time story. It would be similar if the story of the three little pigs and the big bad wolf ended with: "The next day there was a grand celebration, but alas that is a story for another time..." It's just an implication that the story or the "reality" of the story continues to function long after you have put the book down.

They're mentioned very briefly in The Drawing of the Three.

One of these men had been a creature the gunslinger believed to be a demon himself, a creature that pretended to be a man and called itself Flagg. He had seen him only briefly, and that had been near the end, as chaos and the final crash approached his land. Hot on his heels had come two young men who looked desperate and yet grim, men named Dennis and Thomas. These three had crossed only a tiny part of what had been a confused and confusing time in the gunslinger's life, but he would never forget seeing Flagg change a man who had irritated him into a howling dog.
Whether they ever caught Flagg (who I assume is not Randal Flagg) is never revealed that I can remember. Maybe it'll be dealt with in the Dark Tower comics or a third Talisman novel.

I completely agree with Jaedpact, to me this ending was a classical fairytale ending, like that of The Never Ending Story if you like. There were many adventured yet to come in the future, but that is another story... or something. But I liked it. Went well with the book's style I thought.

It is the classic fairy tale ending of course, but did anyone else think that other story might be The Stand?

It is Randall Flagg, and no, they never catch him. It is mentioned very briefly in the Dark Tower (I believe Wizard and Glass).

I've said this once before, I think---King was once asked somewhere if he intended a sequel, and he said, "Keeping reading the Dark Tower series", implying that Roland's Ka-tet would at some point cross paths with them. But it didn't happen. SO when, if ever did Dennis and Thomas meet RF again? Presumably before RF's demise, so what happened?

From the afterword of Wizard and Glass.

I am coming to understand that Roland's world (or worlds) actually contains all the other worlds of my making; There is a place in Mid-World for Randall Flagg, Ralph Roberts, the wandering boys from The Eyes Of The Dragon, even Father Callahan the damned priest from 'Salems Lot who rode out of New England on a Greyhound and wound up dwelling on the border of a terrible Mid-world land named Thunderclap. This is where they seem to end up, and why not?
It seems like he did plan something for them, but he either forgot about them over the years, or couldn't find a way to put them in.

Maybe they'll show up in the coming new DT-book King is planning on writing?
