i would say Susan Delgado. i knew it was going to happen but it still hit pretty hard. plus the picture in the comic was brutal as hell.
DT - The death of Jake was the toughest for me to handle...it realy upset me. (I remember even being pissed off at SK...crazy, huh?)
Not mentioned...Blaze - I wanted that big lug to make it...live happy ever after with the kiddo...yada, yada, yada!
Oy. definitely Oy. I dreamed of him afterwards, hanging in that tree.
Also Mr Jingles (who didn't really, but I didn't know at the time, and sobbed in the bus while reading it. Grown up woman that I am :-))
"real" persons I'd say John Coffee, just because it seemed so bloody unfair.
I'd have to say Eddie Dean. I remember when that happened, I snapped the book closed I was so shocked. It has to be a good book to make me care so much about a character. It took me a while to go back to reading the book after that.
Jake and Oy.![]()
Without a doubt, . I cry each time I read The Dark Tower.
-Jud Crandall in Pet Sematary. Yes, he was old but we never got to see him achieve any sort of redemption for turning Louis onto the burial ground.
-A lot of good characters in The Stand were killed off by the flu, including people who would have been interesting to see further developed.
Jake. Still makes my eyes water every time I read that part. There must be dirt in the air or something.
The circumstances behind Randall Flagg's demise has always stuck with me. I did not shed any tears, but it certainly is memorable. And awe-inspiring.
