Yes I like it. I saw it for the first time when I was seven.. I'm am 21 now. I remember having nightmares about Zelda sleeping and dying next to me for 2 weeks. The funny thing is that day i watched that movie and Silver Bullet with my parents and they encouraged it.

Actually i asked where the stories came from after and my dad told me STephen King. So, I guess while scaring the **** out of me they got me to read.

I think this thread should be in "Movies", not "Novels", but as to you're question - yes, I like it a lot.

In fact, I had several romantic dates watching it, hiding my face in some guy's shoulder and I didn't even had to pretend I was scared...

No. I thought the movie was far inferior to the book. The only "bright" spot in the entire movie was Fred Gwynne's Jud Crandall.

I think the movie was very loyal to King's book, thanks to himself, of course, both Fred and Dale were outstanding in their respective roles, just see the desperation in Louis in the very moment when Gage is hit by the truck. Apart from that I would like to see Louis running from the Wendingo in the way to the indian cemetary and Mrs. Crandall (so this way, Jud would also has the feeling of losing someone), but the rest was very good. One of the best King adaptation ever, maybe the best one in the horror category (yes, I do think it's way better than The Shining by Kubrick).

I loved the movie, as far as the story went. It went along with the book well. They didn't mess up the story.
However, the movie itself felt and looked too fake to me. My favorite part was Zelda.
I watched some of it just a few months ago with my 14 year old son (I hadn't seen it in YEARS) and Gage walking around Judd Crandall's house, with the scapel, saying "play with me daddy" actually gave me the creeps.
I just think the "quality" of the movie could have been better.
    Book was WAY better.

I like this movie, but not because it's actually good. This was the first King novel I read, I was 12. It gave me nightmares for a couple of weeks, (kept seeing Gage standing at the bottom of my bed). Anyways, it remains one of my favorites, and I still think it is terrifying. When the movie came out, I knew they could never be faithful to the book because of all the disturbing images, especially those pertaining to Gage rising from the dead, and all the horrible things he says. Loved Fred Gwynne as Jud though.

I honestly don't remember much about it, lol. I was very young when it was released. I'll try to check it out again soon.
