About to embark on a journey...

Okay. I've been putting this off for some time now, but I think it's about time that I read The Dark Tower series. Due to time restrictions I expect this journey to take at least a couple of months - perhaps even longer.

I know that these books are generally well regarded around these here parts and I hope to post my thoughts on the books as and when I can, and only if I have something worth posting.

So, first up is The Gunslinger. It's the shortest book in the series and should, theoretically, be the fastest read. It also has a great opening line (oft quoted on this MB):

The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed.

How's that for a hook? Talk about making you want to read on. And read on I will. Take me where you will Mr. King. I am ready...

It is a journey well worth taking, no matter how long it takes you to reach the end. (If you're anything like me, you won't want the end to come!!)

You will not be dissapointed.
