i want a movie made about the book. i've got so many ideas for the movie and i can't stop thinking about it. i got one idea where the Pulse came from. also what happens when the speaker is on (i mean speakerphone), does the people walking close enough to hear it "blank out" (what i call when they hear it, the Pulse). And my bro and i do agree about the ending, but it gives you the chance to fill in what happen to Johnny-Gee, make up your own mind about him, it can all be left the GREAT KING. Alice was also heart-breaking i think Clay should have found them and crucfy them for her. i got my bro to read it (he bought it, lucky him and me) and we want a movie, if there is not one already, or one in the making.

According to a post at Fangoria's web site, John Harrison (Clive Barker's Book of Blood) is writing a four-hour miniseries adaptation of Cell for the Weinstein Company. No TV network is yet attached, though.

The post says: "Harrison considers CELL one of King’s best recent books, with opening chapters that will make an incredible first 30 minutes on screen. The filmmaker adds that he doesn’t see this as a zombie story so much as a VILLAGE OF THE DAMNED-esque chiller, and enjoys the fact that the infected populace possesses a hive mentality."

Except his plan for the movie would have ruined it. I'm glad he dropped out of it. I'm not sure what book he read, but he thought the Phone Crazies were zombies. They are not zombies!


I do still hope it becomes a movie, and if and when it happens, I hope they make it right.

There have been a few topics on here concerning this novel becoming a movie. I agreed with most who said that they would like to see this on the big screen and my view has not changed.

What about John Carpenter? I hear John Carpenter and Stephen King are friends. Good screenplay would be difficult.
