Well, LA just spent 1.4 million due to the Mj memorial. LA is 530 million in debt and im sure that there are alot of people that are not very happy about having to pay for this "private" event.

I did think it odd that the Mayor was asking fans to make contributions for a memorial. Didn't know that LA was in that sort of a financial hole, though, and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to then spend money on a concert. Why was LA even chosen? Wasn't he from Gary, Indiana? Is Indianapolis so broke it can't afford to host the event for a 'local'?
Tbh, if I was an LA resident, I'd hope the city made money back out of it somehow. If they did, though, it sure wasn't out of ticket prices, was it?
It wasn't a "private event". 31.1 million people in the US watched it on TV. Millions more watched it on the web.

Good point. Wouldn't it be nice if the stations that were broadcasting it (and financially benefited from it) donated a small percentage of their ad revenue to L.A. to help them offset the costs? Yeah, I know, I'm a dreamer.![]()
The BBC showed it over here (alongside Five). I'd rather Auntie Beeb forked out £100 million to LA as payment for the show instead of it getting spent on executives' expenses.
I thought that the city wanted to have the memorial. I would think that the people who were from out of town/state for the memorial would've been spending money for hotels, food, transportation, etc and that would help bring in some money.
I wish they did not parade the children out at the memorial ceremony.
I am so afraid that they will be used like MJ was when he was just a boy.
I pray they are not exploited.
It would have been nice if the performers helped to pay for the security at the ceremony. They benefited from it too.
Long days and pleasant nights.
It was really hard to watch his daughter say goodbye. Then, they kept showing that clip over & over & over! I thought that was blatant exploitation by the news media. The poor girl!
Come out of the closet, demorgan.
You're clearly a big MJ fan, and your grumpy routine is wearing thin.
