And if you put the backs of the hardback covers together they form a complete picture!
In addition, one was by Richard Bachman, the other by Uncle Stevie.
I am also confused about this. I loved both the books but am curious as to the connection, if it is more then just the charactors.
I'm going on memory here but I thought Johnny saw Tak as glowing embers and thought to himself(deadlights). "IT" connection? When Mike Hanlon is in the smoke stack and the giant bird is pecking the top "tak tak tak". Makes you wonder.
Long days and pleasant nights
Ok, so I just read his "explanation" and I gotta say... NOT COOL! It sounds like he was just screwing with everybody. Dude that **** turned me into Russell Crowe's character from "A Beautiful Mind", trying to figure out the connection between the books and the significance of it. I HAD to crack the code, there WAS a hidden explanation! Now I find out he was just having some fun?... Oh, the injustice of this existence!
I love the idea, but I wish King had left the characters the same in each book (age, descriptions, etc.) and let the events and how they reacted to them be what was different. After reading both, the wiki pages helped me sort out the different ages and relations of the characters. I was hoping the same ones were used in each, but there are different characters and the ones that are in both books are different ages (much younger or older), so you are right, it gets very confusing.
