    Default Desperation/Regulators Question

I am confused on the connection of these two novels. Both books I believe are set in the same time period and have all the same characters, however all the characters are mixed up. For example Ralph Carver is a kid in regulators and an adult in desperation. Did I miss something?

The best answer is the one that is in Steve's words. You can find it in the Inspiration for The Regulators on the main portion of the site. Here's the link.

I read that the two books were set in different dimensions.

For some reason I liked The Regulaters better.

I loved them both, especially my recent re-read. This time I read them back to back, Desperation first, and I was hugely impressed.

I read them back to back, Desperation and then The Regulators, and I thought Desperation was better. I have always wondered if I had read them the other way around would I feel differently. Maybe I'll try that on a re-read one day.

I was really confused when I read them, too. I read Desperation first then The Regulators and how far the characters changed really mixed my head up. I had to keep re-reading passages from The Regulators until I got all the characters straight. However, once I got them straightened out in my head I really liked them both. They are really good books, just don't give up on them....

Yes, me too. But I can't really figure out what it means, though...
