Push/Firestarter

I have just read a review of a film called Push with Dakota Fanning. It is about people with telekinetic powers who 'push' people to do their will. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm thinking Firestarter among others!

Its the use of the word push that makes me think of firestarter. As I said I ahvent seen it.

I thought about it immediately. I just finished rereading FireStartes and the similarity is... well... too close to coincidence in my opinion.

Is it just plagiarism or did Mr. King agree to this?

Same theme in Simmons' Carrion Comfort, mind vampires, etc. Much better done, though. And gorier too.
