Read this last year whilst on holiday in Greece. Like Duma Key, another example of how great characters are as much Stephen Kings speciality as his stories. It was great how the story was seperated into the lives of characters all linked by one childhood event, it amazes me how a writer can "be" so many characters, so accurately. I believe there is a film of this novel ? Anyone seen it and, if so, what do you think ?

hi gem. yeah, i enjoyed the story, too. saw the movie after the book. the movie was okay. they took one chapter and followed that the best they could, a few changes. what can you say? it was a movie. even now, i'm not sure if the movie i saw corresponds to the movie that played in my head. i think the movie at the lunger used all chapters of the book and i had a blast watching it.

The book, as usually the case, is way better. And even for a writer like Mr. King, who is a true master in shaping characters and breathing life into them, the Characters in this book are incredible. You really want to know how they ended up, and luckily for us I guess, it seems Mr. King was also curious about the very same question.

    Hi,

The movie only encompasses the first part, Low Men in Yellow Coats, but Sir Anthony Hopkins is great as Ted Brautigan IMO.

It was sad what happened to the kids, though. Bobby becoming a punk, Carol becoming a crazy protestor, and Sully going to Vietnam.
