Smile Desperation and Green Mile (stay out if no have read)

hi. never did a thread yet and most of the threads are hidden from me. there was more before the revamp and remodel. but i'm reading desperation (re-read, but this time hardcover) and there's some imagery in there that seems to echo something from the green mile. wanted to ask if anyone reading the green mile might recall where it is, exactly.

anyway, here's a couple descriptions, one about steve, "his eyes felt like globes of electricity in chrome sockets." (about steve, home on the range, near lubbock texas and the thunderstorm that got him going.)

later, there's this: "his eyes bulged from puffy sockets like glass marbles." (about a dead baby that cynthia and steve see)

i think these are called similes, or metaphors, something like that. i call them cool. neato even.

there's some imagery like this in the green mile, but until i give that a re-read, i don't recall it, exactly. anyone out the reading the green mile read some stuff like this stuff here?

    thank you kindly!

this isn't from the green mile; guess i'll have to wait some for the link to that story, find time to read it again myself, but this neat-o image is from tommyknockers, 'gardener takes a fall' when gardener and ron are out drinking, 'the late-afternoon sun lanced gardener's eyes like glass spears and it suddenly occurred to him that this might be a bad idea.' i thought i read something about someone getting a piece of glass in their eye. that'd be bad, i think.

Found the thing sought after, green mile, john coffey’s long speech to paul, maybe on the 18th of november, maybe the 20th. Anyway, ‘it feels like pieces of glass in my head. I’m tired of all the times I’ve wanted to help and couldn’t. I’m tired of being in the dark.’ Part 6, chapter 8 p491 my pbc

Andy thinks something along the same lines in firestarter. When the power goes out and he is trapped in his room, traped in the dark, and it is time for his pill. ‘if I had my pill I’d be all right.’ He thinks. ‘I’d be okay then. Christ it feels like my head’s full of broken glass—‘

and i reply, hey, thanks for the he'p good buddie!
    no problemo, anytime!

I thought this thread was going to be about the way Coffey gets the bad gunky out and how Tak gets in. Black stuff coming in/out through the mouth and nose.
