    Default Rose Madder, Audio Book

    So,
I've been putting in tremendous hours at work, with little time to read. When I can read, I'm plugging away at Wolves of the Calla on my Amazon Kindle.

So, I thought I'd try an audio book. I found an entire section devoted to Steve on iTunes. I have a brand new iPod 3gen Shuffle (to add to my growing iPod collection lol). The new one supports audiobooks. So, I looked through everything watching for "unabridged" in the title. I came across Rose Madder, one I had been wanting to read for years, but just hadn't. I thought "let's try it this way."

What an AMAZING story! John always recommends it to those who are a fan of Lisey's Story and Bag of Bones... and now I see why. Anyone who hasn't read (or heard) it, go do so now! Steve narrates part of it. I'll never be able to hear his voice without thinking of Norm Daniels now. hahaha.

    VIVA ZE BULL!!!

I'm also a huge audio book fan because I am just plain too busy to actually read, but I can listen to an audio book while I'm doing more mundane chores like housework, gardening, sometimes at work and on the rare occation that I'm actually able to just sit and relax a bit, I much rather listen to my books than watch tv.

I also did Rose Madder on audio book. I liked it. Can't say it's my fav SK book, the DT series will always hold that spot, but RM was good.

Keep up with the audio books and let us know if you listen to some more. May I suggest you try to get the entire DT series, well worth the listen and it will keep you listening for a long time.

I have listened to this book as well and i really enjoyed it. SK is a great narrator..I also have the first three dark tower books that he narrates which is awesome...I think I may pick up the book and read it now that I'm reminiscing.
Thanks for reminding me how much I loved this book!

Just finished audio book. 8:20 am 1-25-10. Read it first many moons ago and I remember thinking this is not so great, but now as I'm older and married (of course) I feel Rosie's pain. What a terrible marriage. I ask all of the constant readers out there to find a chair, recline back, take the strain off the eyes and listen to a story it's a good thing. And one that is read by the author is better. I happen to wear a necklace with a tree on it, Yes Rose Madder I will remember the tree.

This is one of my favorite books by SK (I'm surprised that SK himself wasn't crazy about it, especially when there's Maximum Overdrive to make fun of). I've read it a few times and enjoy it every time I read it. Not many of SK's newer books (I realize it isn't really "new" but it's definitely not one of his older works) can keep my attention but this one does. I find a lot of his newer novels to be a little less fun and scary than his older ones. Like some of the crazy has gone out of him a little. Sigh. I guess that's what happens when you're all growed up.

Listening to this audiobook right now. Is it weird that I think Norman's internal dialogue is hilarious? He talks to a rubber puppet/mask and hates everything. I know this book isn't supposed to be a laugh riot but for some reason, Norman can crack me up!

Also, Stephen King ROCKED last night on Sons! Woot!!!
